Flat-Rate Email Verification: When a Flat Plan Beats Paying Per Credit
Unlimited email verification means one monthly price no matter how many addresses you check, instead of paying for each address with credits. It beats credits once your monthly volume, including re-checks of old lists, goes past roughly what one month of the plan would buy in credits. For a single small list cleaned once, credits are usually cheaper.
Here is how to work out which side of that line you are on.
The two pricing shapes
Per-credit pricing. You buy credits, one per address. The bill scales with your list, and re-checking a list you already verified costs the same again. Some vendors expire unused credits; others do not.
Flat monthly pricing. You pay the same each month. Checking 5,000 or 80,000 addresses costs the same, so the price per address falls as volume rises.
Neither is a trick. They suit different patterns of use.
Count your real monthly volume
Most people underestimate this. Add up:
- New leads per month. Every export from Apollo, Sales Navigator, a scraper or a purchased list.
- Re-checks. Business data decays as people change jobs. If you re-verify contacts older than about three months before reusing them, that volume repeats.
- Tests. Sampling a new lead source before buying a bigger list.
- Signups or form leads, if you also check those.
A team adding 2,000 leads a week and re-checking last quarter's list before a new campaign can easily pass 20,000 checks a month. The cold email volume calculator helps estimate how many leads your sending capacity uses.
Break-even against published credit prices
The table shows what a month of checking costs at different volumes using each vendor's published pay-as-you-go packs. Each price was read on the vendor's own pricing page on the date shown; they change, so confirm before buying.
| Monthly volume | ZeroBounce | Bouncer | DeBounce | SimpleVerifier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | $69 | $35 | $15 | See pricing |
| 10,000 | $129 | $60 | $25 | See pricing |
| 25,000 | $274 | $155 (10k + 10k + 5k packs) | $45 | See pricing |
| 50,000 | $499 | $250 | $75 | See pricing |
| 100,000 | $649 | $400 | $135 | See pricing |

Two honest readings of that table:
- Around 5,000 a month, a low-cost credit vendor can be cheaper. DeBounce's 5,000 pack is $15, less than a month of most flat plans. If that is your whole usage, buy credits.
- From the tens of thousands upward, a flat plan is far cheaper, and the gap grows with every re-check.

What to check on any unlimited plan
"Unlimited" means different things at different vendors. Before you pay, look for:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is there a file size cap? | A 100,000-row cap per file is fine for most; bigger lists need splitting |
| Is the API included? | Some plans cover uploads only and bill API calls separately |
| Is there a fair-use clause? | Find out what triggers it before you rely on the plan |
| Monthly or annual billing? | The lowest headline prices often require a year up front |
| What happens to results after you cancel? | Download your files before the plan ends |
On SimpleVerifier, Pro is a fair-use flat plan: the first 100,000 emails a month run at full speed, then big lists run slower and are never cut off. Paid plans are monthly and can be cancelled anytime. CSV uploads take up to 100,000 rows per file, and lists run at about 30 addresses a minute averaged over a day, on capacity shared by everyone. API access and phone checks depend on the plan; see pricing.
When credits are the right call
Choose credits if:
- You clean one list a year, such as a newsletter before a big send.
- Your total volume stays under a few thousand a month.
- You want no recurring charge at all.
Credits that never expire are worth paying slightly more for if your usage is irregular. Our paid plans are monthly, and we also sell one-time packs that never expire (see pricing and cost by list size). Duplicates and addresses we cannot check are not charged. Email verification credits explained covers expiry rules across vendors.
When a flat plan is the right call
Choose a flat plan if:
- You run cold email and add leads weekly.
- You re-verify before every campaign, which you should for B2B lists.
- You test multiple lead sources and want to verify samples freely.
- You manage lists for several clients.
In those cases the per-address cost of a flat plan drops to fractions of a cent, and you stop rationing checks, which is when people start sending unverified leads to save money.
Quick rule of thumb
If your monthly checks, including re-checks, regularly run into the tens of thousands, a flat plan is very likely cheaper than paying per credit.
Start with the free checks

Common questions
Is unlimited email verification really unlimited?
Read the plan's limits. On SimpleVerifier Pro there is no cap and lists are never cut off, under fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month run at full speed, then big lists run in a paced lane. CSV uploads take up to 100,000 rows per file and lists run at about 30 addresses a minute averaged over a day, on capacity shared by everyone; plan allowances are on the pricing page. Other vendors' plans differ, so check each page for file limits and fair-use terms.
When is a credit pack cheaper than an unlimited plan?
When you verify one small list occasionally. Several vendors sell 5,000 to 10,000 checks for under $30 as a one-off purchase, which costs less than a month of most flat plans.
Do I need unlimited verification for cold email?
If you add new leads every week, re-verify before each campaign and test new lead sources, your monthly volume adds up fast. Teams sending a few thousand cold emails a week often check tens of thousands of addresses a month once re-checks are counted.
Can I cancel a monthly verification plan?
SimpleVerifier's plans are month to month and can be cancelled anytime. Other vendors set their own terms, including annual commitments for their lowest prices, so read the billing terms before buying.
