Email verification cost calculator
In short: Compare what verifying a list costs per 1,000 addresses across 34 vendors' published prices, including what re-verifying costs again. Limit: Vendor prices are the published list prices we checked in September 2026. Discounts, annual billing, taxes and later price changes are not included.
Email verification costs about $1 to $20 per 1,000 addresses on credit-based pricing, going by 30 vendors’ published prices for a 10,000-address list in September 2026, and charges again every time you re-verify. Enter your list size and how often you clean it to see the real annual cost, including on your current plan.
Lists go stale as people change jobs, so most people re-verify. On credit pricing the second pass costs the same as the first.

10,000 addresses is 2 months of a 5,000/month allowance, so the list costs 2× the monthly price — that is the mechanic credit pricing relies on.

Competitor costs assume the cheapest paid plan and the published allowance, prices checked September 2026. An empty row means that vendor does not publish an allowance on its pricing page, so no honest per-1,000 figure can be calculated — we would rather leave it blank than invent one.

How much does email verification cost?
It costs the price per address times every address you check, every time you check it. Everyone compares monthly prices. The monthly price is not what you pay. What you pay is the monthly price multiplied by how many months of allowance your list consumes, and a 50,000-address list on a 5,000-a-month plan is ten months of allowance, so a $49 plan is a $490 job.
Then it recurs. People change jobs and abandon addresses, so the list you cleaned in January needs checking again before a big send in spring, and on credit pricing that second pass costs full price because the vendor’s model has no memory of the first. The list decay calculator estimates how much of a list goes stale over time.
This is not a criticism of credit pricing so much as a description of it. It is genuinely fine for a small, steady list. It gets expensive precisely when verification matters most: a large list, or a list you check often.
How do I calculate the cost of email verification?
- Enter the number of addresses in your list, or pick one of the presets.
- Enter how many times a year you verify it. Every pass counts toward the total, because credit pricing charges for each one.
- Add what you pay per month and how many verifications your plan includes. Both are on your invoice.
- Read your cost for the list and per 1,000, then compare the vendor table. Each row uses that vendor's cheapest published plan or credit pack for the volume.
Example
- You enter
- A 10,000-address list verified twice a year, on a plan of $49 a month for 5,000 verifications.
- You get
- 20,000 verifications use 4 months of allowance: $196 a year, $9.80 per 1,000. A $39 fair-use month works out at $1.95 per 1,000 for the same 20,000.

Is credit-based or flat-rate email verification cheaper?
It depends on how much you verify and how often. The mechanics:
| Credit-based pricing | Flat monthly plan | |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | Each address checked | A month of access |
| Re-verifying the same list | Full price again | No extra cost |
| One large list | Several months of allowance, or a big pack | One month |
| Small list checked once a year | Often the cheaper option | Can cost more |
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Agencies
- Price a client's list clean before quoting it. Enter the list size once to see the one-off cost, then the passes per year if you'll keep the list clean for them.
- Cold emailers
- Every new lead batch needs verifying before it goes into a sequence. Enter your monthly volume as passes to see what a year of that costs on credits.
- Marketers
- Budget for re-verifying the newsletter list each quarter. Four passes of the same list cost four times one on credit pricing; see how often to verify.
- Sales ops
- Compare a renewal quote against the alternatives with your own plan's price and allowance, without trusting anyone's per-1,000 headline.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- Vendor prices are the published list prices we checked in September 2026. Discounts, annual billing, taxes and later price changes are not included.
- Vendors that do not publish an allowance get a blank row rather than a guess.
- It prices volume, not accuracy. A cheaper vendor that returns more unknown results leaves you to pay in bounces or in addresses you throw away.
- Totals assume you use every credit you buy. Credits that expire, or allowances that reset each month, can make the real cost higher.
Common questions
- How much does it cost to verify 10,000 emails?
- At the published prices in the calculator, one pass of 10,000 addresses costs between about $12 and $198 depending on the vendor, and the same again the next time you verify the list. On SimpleVerifier's flat plan it costs $39 for the month, however many times you run it.
- What is a good price per 1,000 email verifications?
- For a 10,000-address list, the vendors in the calculator range from about $1 to $20 per 1,000, and the rate falls as you buy larger bundles. That is the right benchmark for a one-off clean. For ongoing work it misleads, because a list re-verified monthly pays that rate twelve times a year.
- Why does re-verifying a list cost again?
- On credit pricing, every address checked consumes a credit whether or not it was checked last month. We cache confirmed results for 14 days, so an overlapping re-upload returns instantly, consumes nothing and opens no new SMTP connections.
- How often should I re-verify my email list?
- Before any large send, and on a schedule that matches how fast your audience changes jobs and addresses, often quarterly for a list you mail regularly. The email list decay calculator estimates how much of a list has gone stale since it was last checked. That recurring need is why per-address pricing adds up.
- What is the cheapest email verification service?
- It depends on your list size and how often you verify, which is what the calculator works out. A pay-as-you-go pack is often cheapest for one small list checked once; a flat plan is cheaper for large lists or lists checked often. Compare accuracy too: a cheap result marked unknown still has to be dealt with.
- Why does email verification cost money?
- Because each check is real work: a DNS lookup and an SMTP conversation with the recipient's mail server, from IP addresses whose reputation has to be kept clean so servers keep answering. Free tools that only check syntax cost nothing to run, and tell you much less.
