Email verification services compared

Email verification is sold two ways: a monthly subscription against a credit allowance, from under $10 to $99 a month at entry level, or pay-as-you-go credit packs from several dollars per 1,000 on a small pack to under $1 at a million. SimpleVerifier sells monthly plans from $9 for 2,500 emails a month, and Pro at $39 a month with the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off, plus one-time packs from $15 that never expire. Below are 54 vendors’ cheapest routes, read off their own pricing pages, including the ones that beat us, and when.

Vendor by vendor

Each page says what that tool charges, where its pricing model bites, and who should keep paying for it instead of switching.

Truelist

$0.70–$1.40/1k

Where it bites: every pass is a fresh credit purchase, and the flat-rate Unlimited plan starts at $799 a month only on a 12-month commitment billed upfront ($999 a month on 3 months).

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Bulk Email Checker

$0.20–$2.95/1k

Where it bites: every pass is another credit purchase, so a list re-checked every month is paid for again each time, and from 50,000 credits ($44.95) one pass costs more than a month of Pro.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Voila Norbert

$3.00/1k

Where it bites: verification is billed per email at $0.003 up to 500,000, so a 100,000-address list is a $300 job each time you run it.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

QuickEmailVerification

$0.70–$8.00/1k

Where it bites: every re-check is billed again from the credit balance, so a list you clean monthly is bought again each month.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Proofy

$4.25/mo or $0.34–$5.00/1k

Where it bites: every pass is another credit purchase, so a list you re-check every month is paid for again each time, and from 50,000 a month its monthly plan ($44.20) costs more than a month of Pro.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Kickbox

$3.00–$10.00/1k

Where it bites: verification is billed per email, so cleaning a large list is a variable cost you cannot forecast from the plan price.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Xverify

$1.00–$10.00/1k

Where it bites: it is billed per verification, so a 100,000-address list costs $400 each time it is cleaned.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Listclean

$0.13–$1.00/1k

Where it bites: every pass is another pack, so a list you re-check every month is paid for again each time, and from 250,000 addresses ($65) one pass costs more than a month of Pro.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Bouncer

$6.40/mo or $2.00–$8.00/1k

Where it bites: credit-based pricing means the second pass over a list costs the same as the first.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

SafetyMails

$6.80/mo or $0.76–$7.50/1k

Where it bites: the allowance is a credit count, so 100,000 a month is $194 on a plan or $212.80 as a pack, and the page says purchases cannot be refunded.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

MyEmailVerifier

$7/mo or $0.30–$4.00/1k

Where it bites: the allowance is a credit count, so 100,000 a month is $89 on a plan or $99 as a pack, and its FAQ says it never stores a result, so every re-check of the same list spends credits again.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Emails Checker

$0.17–$1.40/1k

Where it bites: every pass is another pack, so a list of 100,000 re-checked every month is $49.50 every month, more than a month of Pro.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Reoon

$9/mo or $0.97–$1.19/1k

Where it bites: the subscription is a daily allowance that does not carry over, so a large list either waits for days of credits or is bought again as an instant pack.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Pabbly Email Verification

$2.90–$9.00/1k

Where it bites: its published tiers stop at 15,000 emails, so a larger list has to be priced separately.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Email Hippo

$9.88/mo

Where it bites: prices climb steeply with the volume tier: 10,000 checks a month is $88.40 and 100,000 is $468.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Verifalia

$9.90/mo or $0.49–$7.90/1k

Where it bites: the plans are daily allowances that expire at midnight, so a large list either waits for days of credits or is bought as a pack, and High or Extreme quality doubles or quadruples the credits per address.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Email Verifier API

$1.30–$9.95/1k

Where it bites: the per-email price is high at volume: 10,000 credits are $49.95 and 100,000 are $399.95, bought again for every pass.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

EmailValidation.io

$9.99/mo

Where it bites: it is metered per credit, so a growing sign-up flow or a bulk clean moves you to the $34.99 or $94.99 tier.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

MailerCheck

$1.00–$10.00/1k

Where it bites: it is priced per credit, so cleaning the same list twice costs twice.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Clearalist

$1.00–$5.00/1k

Where it bites: every pass is another pack, and from 10,000 credits ($40) one pass costs more than a month of Pro; 100,000 credits are $250.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

DeBounce

$13.80/mo or $0.44–$3.00/1k

Where it bites: every option is metered by the credit, so every pass over the list is billed again — the cost scales with how often you clean, not just how much.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Email List Validation

$14/mo or $0.95–$7.80/1k

Where it bites: past 10,000 a month the tiers climb quickly: 25,000 is $79 a month and 100,000 is $229.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Mailboxlayer

$14.99/mo

Where it bites: it is an API quota, not a list tool, so cleaning a CSV means writing the batching yourself and every row counts against the month.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Verimail

$15/mo or $0.32–$4.00/1k

Where it bites: it has no plan between 10,000 and 100,000 a month, so 25,000 a month is a $40 pack or the $79 Professional plan, and 1,000,000 a month is $299.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

VeriMails

$15/mo or $0.30–$1.90/1k

Where it bites: plan allowances reset each billing cycle and do not roll over, and 100,000 a month is $69 on its Business plan or $99 as a pack.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

EmailListVerify

$16/mo or $1.86–$5.00/1k

Where it bites: the allowance is the ceiling — a list past it pushes you up the tiers, and a 100,000-address clean is a $186 pay-as-you-go job.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

BillionVerify

$16/mo or $0.35–$1.00/1k

Where it bites: the allowance is a credit count, so a list re-checked every month spends credits again each time, and at 100,000 a month its plan is $64.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Abstract API

$19/mo

Where it bites: the plan is a request quota, so a bulk clean and your live sign-up checks compete for the same allowance.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Bouncify

$19/mo or $0.50–$4.00/1k

Where it bites: subscription credits reset every month, so an allowance you did not use that month is gone.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Icypeas

$19/mo

Where it bites: finding and verifying share one credit pool, so heavy verification draws down the credits you meant for finding.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Bounceless

$19/mo or $0.28–$3.80/1k

Where it bites: the allowance is a credit count, so 100,000 a month is $99 on Business and $159 as a pack, and every re-check of the same list spends credits again.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Selzy

$0.70–$4.00/1k

Where it bites: each package is one pass, so 100,000 addresses are $200 every time the list is checked, and the pricing page does not say whether credits expire.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Clearout

$23/mo or $1.00–$8.00/1k

Where it bites: the monthly-billed price is far above the annual one — 10,000 a month is $58 billed monthly against $32 a month billed yearly — so the low headline needs a year's commitment.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

EmailVerify.io

$25/mo or $1.50–$5.00/1k

Where it bites: the allowance is a credit count, so 100,000 a month is $149 on a plan or $199 as a pack, and subscription credits reset each cycle below its 500,000-credit tiers.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Mailfloss

$29/mo or $1.04–$8.00/1k

Where it bites: the plan is sized by monthly volume, so a list that grows pushes you up a tier whether or not the extra addresses are worth checking.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Anymail Finder

$29/mo

Where it bites: verifying addresses from elsewhere costs 0.2 credits each from the same pool you use for finding, so a big clean eats your prospecting allowance.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

MailboxValidator

$29.95/mo or $0.70–$19.95/1k

Where it bites: every plan, including one-time bulk plans, is listed with 30-day validity, so queries you bought and did not use do not wait for you.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Captain Verify

$31.50/mo or $0.47–$8.00/1k

Where it bites: 100,000 email credits are $236 as a pack or $212.40 a month, pack credits lapse 365 days after purchase unless extended, and subscription credits do not carry over to the next month.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Emailable

$32.30/mo or $2.10–$7.60/1k

Where it bites: it is priced per credit, so the bill scales with the list: 100,000 a month is $357 even with the subscription discount, and every re-check is billed again.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

BounceBan

$34/mo or $1.70–$4.00/1k

Where it bites: its packs are priced for catch-all work, $40 for 10,000 and $300 for 100,000, so a list that is mostly ordinary domains pays catch-all rates on every address, again on every pass.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

MillionVerifier

$0.17–$3.90/1k

Where it bites: every pass is a fresh purchase, so a list you re-check monthly is bought again each time.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Snov.io

$39/mo

Where it bites: unused credits expire every 30 days on a monthly plan, and finding and verifying draw on the same pool.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Skrapp

$39/mo

Where it bites: the jump from 2,000 to 50,000 credits is a jump from $39 to $349 a month, with nothing published in between.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Scrubby

$47/mo or $8.00/1k

Where it bites: the plans stop at 100,000 credits for $497 a month, Deep Verification spends 3 credits per address, and its pricing page says all purchases are final, with no refunds for unused credits.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

NeverBounce

$49/mo or $2.00–$8.00/1k

Where it bites: credits expire, so an allowance bought for a campaign that slipped a quarter is simply gone.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Hunter.io

$49/mo

Where it bites: verifications draw half a credit each from the same pool you use for finding, and on monthly billing unused credits reset every month.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Mailgun

$49/mo

Where it bites: past the allowance, validations are billed as overage from $1.20 per 100 on the Pilot plan, so a big list clean is mostly overage.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Tomba

$49/mo

Where it bites: the verification allowance is half the plan's credits, so 50,000 verifications a month needs the $449 plan.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Findymail

$49/mo

Where it bites: rollover is capped at twice the monthly allowance, so a quiet quarter loses credits.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Enrichley

$59/mo

Where it bites: verification costs a full credit from the shared pool, and unused credits expire when you cancel.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

EmailOversight

$70/mo

Where it bites: email validation alone is $70 a month up to 10,000 and $400 a month up to 100,000, and above 250,000 the price is not published.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

SendGrid

$89.95/mo

Where it bites: validation is only included from the Pro email API plan up, so a team that wants to clean a list pays for a sending tier it may not need.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

ZeroBounce

$99/mo or $2.70–$19.50/1k

Where it bites: credits are the unit, so the bill scales with list size and a re-verification of the same list costs full price again.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

LeadMagic

$99/mo

Where it bites: rollover on monthly plans is capped at two months, and annual credits refresh yearly without rolling over.

Compare with SimpleVerifier

Head to head, without us in the answer

Comparisons between two competitors, where the verdict is whichever of them actually suits you. We appear once at the bottom of each, labelled as our own pitch.

ZeroBounce vs NeverBounce

NeverBounce is roughly half ZeroBounce's price for verification alone, so if verification is all you need it is the better value.

Hunter.io vs ZeroBounce

These are different products.

DeBounce vs EmailListVerify

On published pay-as-you-go rates DeBounce is cheaper at every size both sell: 10,000 addresses cost $25 at DeBounce and $27 at EmailListVerify, and 100,000 cost $135 against $186.

Kickbox vs Bouncer

Both sell pay-as-you-go credit packs at similar prices (5,000 addresses cost $40 at Kickbox and $35 at Bouncer as of October 2026), and both are credible verifiers, so price is not the deciding factor.

ZeroBounce vs Kickbox

On published pay-as-you-go packs Kickbox costs less at every list size both price: 10,000 addresses are $70 at Kickbox and $129 at ZeroBounce, and 100,000 are $500 against $649.

Kickbox vs NeverBounce

Kickbox publishes a full pay-as-you-go ladder, from $5 for 500 addresses to $2,999 for a million, so you can price any list before you buy.

ZeroBounce vs Emailable

For a 5,000-address list Emailable is cheaper: $38 pay-as-you-go, or $32.30 a month on subscription, against $69 for ZeroBounce's 5,000 pack.

NeverBounce vs Emailable

The clearest difference is expiry.

ZeroBounce vs MillionVerifier

For bulk cleaning MillionVerifier is far cheaper on published prices: 50,000 credits cost $89 against $499 at ZeroBounce, and a million cost $449 against $3,199.

MillionVerifier vs NeverBounce

MillionVerifier is pay as you go with credits that never expire: 50,000 for $89 and a million for $449.

Hunter.io vs Snov.io

Both are sales platforms where verification is one feature.

ZeroBounce vs Bouncer

Bouncer is cheaper on published packs: 10,000 addresses cost $60 against $129 at ZeroBounce, and 100,000 cost $400 against $649.

NeverBounce vs Bouncer

Bouncer publishes pay-as-you-go packs whose credits never expire, from $8 for 1,000 to $2,000 for a million.

Clearout vs ZeroBounce

Clearout is cheaper on published prices: 10,000 credits a month cost $58 on Clearout's monthly billing ($32 a month billed yearly) against $99 for ZeroBounce ONE, and Clearout's entry plan is $23 a month for 3,000.

DeBounce vs ZeroBounce

DeBounce is much cheaper per address on published packs: 10,000 addresses cost $25 against $129 at ZeroBounce, and 100,000 cost $135 against $649.

MillionVerifier vs DeBounce

When we are not the right choice

Several vendors in the table above are cheaper than us in specific, common cases. We would rather say so here than have you find out after paying. The three we see most often:

One small list, cleaned once, nothing to cancel — use DeBounce
A 5,000-address clean costs $15 there against $39 for a month of our Pro plan, and their credits never expire. Our smallest one-time pack is $15 for 10,000 checks, so for exactly 5,000 DeBounce is still the better fit.
About 5,000 a month, steady — use EmailListVerify
Their subscription is $16 a month for 5,000 credits. Above Starter’s 2,500 a month our next plan is Pro at $39, so at 5,000 a month they are $276 a year less, and if that volume genuinely covers you, the extra capacity is something you will never touch.
You need outreach sending too — use Hunter
Campaigns, sequences, connected mailboxes and a writing assistant are a different product from a verifier. We replace one part of Hunter, not all of it, and running both to save on verification is usually a false economy.

Where we do win is narrower and easier to state: large lists, because volume does not change the price, and lists verified repeatedly, because a confirmed result is cached for 14 days and the second pass costs nothing. At 100,000 addresses cleaned quarterly, most per-address models in this table cost more than $39 a month.

How to test a verifier before you pay for it

Price is the easy part to compare and the least important. Accuracy is what you are buying, and it takes about two minutes to test on any vendor:

  1. Invent an address at a real domain — something like [email protected]. Verify it. A tool doing real mailbox checks returns invalid. A tool checking only syntax and MX returns valid, because the domain is fine.
  2. Check a catch-all domain. Many corporate domains accept every address. An honest result is “accepts all addresses” or risky — not valid, because nothing was confirmed.
  3. Re-run the same list. If the second pass costs the same as the first, you are paying twice for one answer.
  4. Read what the statuses mean. A verifier that has no risky category is hiding its uncertainty inside “valid”, which is where bounces come from.

Our rule, for what it is worth: 9,913 disposable domains are blocked outright, and anything the probe could not confirm comes back risky rather than valid. Plans and limits are on the pricing page.

Common questions

What is the best email verification service?
It depends on how often you clean and how big the list is, and the honest answer is not always us. For a one-off clean of about 5,000 addresses, DeBounce is cheaper: $15 for 5,000 with credits that never expire, against $39 for a month of our Pro plan. For a steady 5,000 a month, DeBounce's monthly plan ($13.80) and EmailListVerify's $16 subscription cost less than Pro. SimpleVerifier Starter ($9 for 2,500 emails a month) covers small volumes, and Pro at $39 a month (the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off) wins on larger lists and on lists you re-verify often, because neither of those adds to the bill. If you also need outreach sending, Hunter is a platform rather than a verifier and replaces more of your stack.
What is the cheapest email verification service?
For one pass over a small list, pay-as-you-go packs usually cost least: Reoon sells 10,000 credits for $11.90 and DeBounce 5,000 for $15, both with credits that do not expire. For a recurring small volume, low subscriptions such as EmailListVerify at $16 a month for 5,000 credits or Bouncify at $19 a month for 10,000 cost less than a flat plan; SimpleVerifier's own Starter is $9 a month for 2,500 emails a month. For large or repeatedly verified lists, a flat plan is the better model: SimpleVerifier Pro is $39 a month for the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off, so the per-1,000 cost falls as usage rises.
Do all email verifiers do real SMTP mailbox checks?
No, and this is the difference that matters more than price. Some tools only check syntax and MX records, then return valid for anything on a live domain. A real check opens an SMTP conversation with the recipient's mail server and asks whether the specific mailbox exists. Test any vendor by verifying an address you invented at a real domain — if it comes back valid, the mailbox was never checked.
How much should email verification cost per 1,000 emails?
Published pay-as-you-go rates in this market run from about $3 to $20 per 1,000 on the smallest packs down to under $1 per 1,000 on million-address packs from the cheapest vendors, so the rate you actually pay depends heavily on list size. On a flat plan the per-1,000 figure is not fixed at all — it falls as you verify more, which is why the right comparison is total annual cost for your actual volume rather than any single per-1,000 rate.
Is a subscription or pay-as-you-go better for email verification?
Pay-as-you-go is better if you clean a list once and rarely repeat it, because you buy exactly what you use and good providers do not expire the credits. A subscription is better if you verify continuously or in unpredictable bursts, because the second and third pass over a list cost nothing extra. The mistake is buying a subscription for a one-off job, or paying per address for work you repeat monthly.

Test it on a real address first

Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.

Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.
