Email research and data
SimpleVerifier publishes original measurements from public DNS records, published pages and its own test checks on made-up addresses. None of it is drawn from the lists customers verify. Every study states its sample, date range, method and limitations, and the aggregate data is free to reuse under CC BY 4.0 with a link back to the study.

How we run a study
- Every study names its sample, the date it was measured, how the data was collected and what it can't tell you.
- Mailbox checks use addresses we made up for the test, never a real person's address and never a customer's list.
- Figures on the page are counted from the published CSV, so anyone can recount them.
- A rerun gets its own date. Old figures are not silently replaced.
Questions
- Where does SimpleVerifier's research data come from?
- From public DNS records, pages the companies themselves publish, and checks our own verifier ran on addresses we made up for the test. None of it comes from the lists customers upload, which the privacy policy rules out.
- Can I quote or reuse these studies?
- Yes. The aggregate data in every study is licensed CC BY 4.0: free to reuse, including commercially, with a link back to the study page. Each study page has its CSV, the date it was measured, the sample and its limitations.
- How often are the studies updated?
- Each study states the date its measurements were taken. A rerun is published with its new date rather than silently replacing the old figures.
