Email list cleaning service

Email list cleaning removes the addresses that will bounce or hurt your sender reputation: mailboxes that no longer exist, dead domains, typos, disposable addresses and duplicates. SimpleVerifier cleans a CSV with SMTP mailbox checks and returns separate valid, risky and invalid files, for $39 a month, never cut off: the first 100,000 emails a month run at full speed, then big lists run slower, or from $9 a month on Starter. The first 100 addresses are cleaned free.

or test one address on this page

Lists decay on their own. People change jobs, companies change domains, and personal mailboxes are closed. A list that barely bounced a year ago can bounce far more today, and mailbox providers judge you on the bounces, not on the age of the list.

Cleaning is a self-service upload here, not a managed project. You keep control of the file, and you decide what to do with the risky group. The use-case guides explain which results to keep or drop for cold email, newsletters, ecommerce and more.

Lowest published route for cleaning one list of that size, read from each vendor's pricing page. Ours is the cheaper of one month of the smallest plan that covers it and a one-time pack, where packs are sold. Vendor prices read 12 Oct 2026 to 5 Nov 2026. Each vendor links to its comparison page, which records the date its prices were read. Check their site for current pricing before you buy.

SimpleVerifier facts: prices, packs and limits

What it is
Email verification with a real SMTP mailbox check: each address comes back valid, risky or invalid with a reason. Includes an email finder on Pro and up.
Price per check
Starter $9/mo for 2,500 ($3.60 per 1,000); Pro $39/mo, 100,000 a month at full speed ($0.39 per 1,000 when used), then slower, never cut off. Business $99/mo with 300,000 at full speed; Agency $249/mo with 750,000 at full speed.
One-time packs
10,000 for $15 ($1.50 per 1,000); 25,000 for $29 ($1.16 per 1,000); 50,000 for $49 ($0.98 per 1,000); 100,000 for $79 ($0.79 per 1,000); 250,000 for $169 ($0.68 per 1,000). Credits never expire, run at standard speed, CSV verification only (no API or finder).
Free checks
First 100 email checks free with a Google sign-in, no card, once per account. Single checks on the free email checker need no account.
Billing
Monthly subscription, cancel anytime (yearly billing optional). One-time packs are listed above. Starter allowances reset monthly and do not roll over.
Speed today
One sending IP today, shared by every customer: about 13,000 mailbox checks a day in the standard lane. Bad syntax, dead domains and disposable addresses return at once; a list of 100,000 takes days, not hours, and each job shows its estimated finish time.
Catch-all handling
Catch-all (accept-all) addresses stay risky, never valid, and are graded higher, medium or lower likelihood with the reasons. Anything a mail server does not confirm is risky.
API and MCP
REST API on Pro, Business and Agency (Pro includes 10,000 calls a month, then $1.50 per 1,000). Remote MCP server with 6 tools for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code. No API on Starter.
Integrations
Connects to Instantly, Smartlead, HubSpot and Mailchimp by API key: verifies a campaign or list and tags each contact with its result. CSV in and out for any other tool.
Phone
Free phone format checks (country, type range). Live carrier and line-type lookups come with Pro + Phone at $49.99/mo (5,000 a month). It never says a number is in service.
What it does not do
No sending, warmup or inbox placement tests. No published accuracy benchmark against other verifiers. Catch-all domains, Yahoo and AOL cannot be confirmed, and Outlook.com and Hotmail mailboxes are not probed while Microsoft refuses checks from our server's network: all of these come back risky, never valid.

Test it on a real address first

Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.

Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

Have a list? Sign in with Google and the first 100 addresses are checked free, with results to download. No card.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.

What a clean removes

Invalid: the mail server said the mailbox does not exist, the domain has no mail servers, or the syntax is broken. These are the addresses that hard-bounce, and they should go.

Risky: the server would not confirm the mailbox, the domain accepts every address (catch-all), or the address is a role account. Disposable domains, 9,913 of them, are flagged too. Whether to send to risky addresses depends on the list; the catch-all guide covers the trade-off.

Valid: the mailbox was confirmed by its own server. That does not promise a reply or an inbox placement, but it removes the bounce.

Email list cleaning for agencies

An agency cleans many client lists a month, so the questions are the total monthly volume, who on the team can upload, and keeping each client's files apart. Business is $99 a month for 300,000 emails a month at full speed and 5 seats. Agency is $249 a month for 750,000 at full speed, 15 seats and client workspaces: each list is filed under a client, and history and exports filter by client. Past the full-speed volume, lists keep running in a slower lane, never cut off.

Each clean returns separate valid, risky and invalid files plus a report, so the hand-back to a client is the files, not a spreadsheet you rebuilt. The agency verification workflow covers intake, what to do with risky rows, and how to report bounce risk to a client.

On Agency, each finished list also has a client report with your agency's name and logo, to print, save as PDF or share by an expiring link (the link shows a small "Verified with SimpleVerifier" line). SimpleVerifier does not sell a white-label app. The agency roundup lists what each vendor's pricing page says about seats and client separation.

How often to clean

A list that is still being added to, or that you send to every month, is worth re-checking before each large send. On a metered service each re-check is billed again, which is the main reason a flat plan exists. On Pro a re-check costs nothing extra, and results confirmed within the last 14 days come back from cache.

When a different cleaning service is the better pick

  • You want someone to do the clean for you as a managed project. This is a self-service upload.
  • You need a fully white-label app or reseller billing under your own brand.
  • You clean one big list once and never again: a credit pack that never expires can cost less than a month of a plan, and the table above shows which.

Common questions

What is an email list cleaning service?
A service that checks every address on a list and tells you which ones will bounce, which are risky, and which are confirmed, so you can remove the bad ones before sending.
How much does email list cleaning cost?
On SimpleVerifier, $39 a month (never cut off: the first 100,000 emails a month run at full speed, then big lists run slower), or Starter at $9 a month for 2,500 emails a month. Other vendors mostly charge per address; the table on this page compares one clean at three list sizes.
What is the best email list cleaning service for agencies?
One whose price stays predictable across all your client lists and lets the team share the account. SimpleVerifier Agency is $249 a month with 15 seats and client workspaces; Business is $99 with 5 seats. Credit-based services can cost less for a single one-off clean.
Will cleaning my list remove spam traps?
Partly. Verification removes dead addresses, and recycled spam traps are often old dead addresses that were reactivated, so cleaning old lists lowers the risk. No verifier can identify every trap, because a trap is built to look like an ordinary mailbox.

Clean your list

Pro is $39 a month and never cuts you off: the first 100,000 emails a month run at full speed, then big lists run slower. CSV uploads, the API (10,000 calls a month, then $1.50 per 1,000), the Google Sheets add-on and the email finder are included, and you can cancel any time. For smaller volumes, Starter is $9 a month for 2,500 emails a month.

The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card, on the same engine the paid plans use.
