Toll-free and premium numbers in Egypt
Toll-free numbers in Egypt start with 0800 when dialled inside Egypt (800 after +20 from abroad) and have 10 digits after the country code. Premium-rate numbers start with 0900. Example: 0800 123 4567, or +208001234567 in E.164.

Every valid Egypt number of each type starts with one of these digit groups. The example column shows Google’s example number for the range, written internationally.
| Type | Starts with, after +20 | Dialled inside Egypt | Digits | Example |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toll-free | 800 | 0800 | 10 | +20 800 123 4567 |
| Premium rate | 900 | 0900 | 10 | +20 900 123 4567 |
What each type means for the caller
- Toll-free: 0800
- Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 10 digits after +20.
- Premium rate: 0900
- Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 10 digits after +20.
Writing and dialling a Egypt toll-free number
Inside Egypt, dial the number with its leading 0. From abroad or in E.164, drop the 0 and put +20 in front: 0800 123 4567 becomes +208001234567. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Egypt, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Egypt phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

A prefix says what a range is for. A live lookup says what the line is now.

Common questions
- What is the toll-free prefix in Egypt?
- Egypt toll-free numbers start with 0800 at home, written +20 800 internationally. Every valid toll-free number starts that way, though not every number with those digits is in service.
- How many digits is a Egypt toll-free number?
- 10 digits after the country code +20, plus the trunk prefix 0 when dialled inside Egypt.
- Can I call a Egypt toll-free number from abroad?
- Sometimes. Dial +20 and the number without the leading 0. Many freephone numbers only take calls from inside Egypt, and where they do connect from abroad the call is usually charged.
- How do I spot a premium-rate number in Egypt?
- By its first digits: 0900. The prefix tells you the range is charged; the actual price is set per service.

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.
