What each type means for the caller
- Toll-free: 800–808
- Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 7 digits after +354.
- Premium rate: 900–905, 907 or 908
- Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 7 digits after +354.
- Universal access (UAN): 809
- One national number for a business with several sites, routed to the nearest or chosen office. 7 digits after +354.
- VoIP: 490–492, 494–497 or 499
- Numbers issued for internet telephony services rather than a fixed line or a mobile network. 7 digits after +354.
Writing and dialling a Iceland toll-free number
Iceland has no trunk prefix, so the number is the same at home and abroad; in E.164 put +354 in front: 800 1234 becomes +3548001234. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Iceland, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Iceland phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

A prefix says what a range is for. A live lookup says what the line is now.

- 7 digits after the country code +354.
- Can I call a Iceland toll-free number from abroad?

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.

- Carrier name for every number looked up
