Free-to-call and charged ranges in Poland

Every valid Poland number of each type starts with one of these digit groups. The example column shows Google’s example number for the range, written internationally.

What each type means for the caller

Toll-free: 800
Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 9 or 10 digits after +48.
Premium rate: 700, 701, 703, 704 or 706–708
Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 9 digits after +48.
Shared cost: 801
The caller pays part of the cost and the owner pays the rest, so the price sits between a free and a normal call. 9 digits after +48.
Universal access (UAN): 804
One national number for a business with several sites, routed to the nearest or chosen office. 9 digits after +48.
VoIP: 39
Numbers issued for internet telephony services rather than a fixed line or a mobile network. 9 digits after +48.

Writing and dialling a Poland toll-free number

Poland has no trunk prefix, so the number is the same at home and abroad; in E.164 put +48 in front: 800 123 456 becomes +48800123456. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Poland, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.

Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list

In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Poland phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

Next step

A prefix says what a range is for. A live lookup says what the line is now.

Pro + Phone is $49.99 a month (or $499.90 a year): upload a CSV and every number gets a live line-type and carrier lookup, with the emails in the same file checked too.

Common questions

What is the toll-free prefix in Poland?
Poland toll-free numbers start with 800 after +48. Every valid toll-free number starts that way, though not every number with those digits is in service.
How many digits is a Poland toll-free number?
9 or 10 digits after the country code +48.
Can I call a Poland toll-free number from abroad?
Sometimes. Dial +48 and the number. Many freephone numbers only take calls from inside Poland, and where they do connect from abroad the call is usually charged.
How do I spot a premium-rate number in Poland?
By its first digits: 700, 701, 703, 704 or 706–708. Shared-cost numbers start with 801. The prefix tells you the range is charged; the actual price is set per service.

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.

In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.

  • 5,000 live carrier lookups a month: real line type, including US numbers
  • Carrier name for every number looked up
  • Upload a CSV up to 100,000 rows; emails in the same file get a mailbox check
