Bulk AOL email checker: check a list of AOL addresses at once

In short: Checks many aol.com, aim.com and aol.co.uk addresses at once: typo domains like aoll.com, duplicates and +tag repeats flagged, with why AOL's servers can't confirm a single mailbox said plainly. Limit: Yahoo's servers receive AOL mail and accepted made-up addresses in our checks, so passing AOL rows are risky, never valid.

A bulk AOL email checker tests many aol.com, aim.com and aol.co.uk addresses at once. Paste the list here: bad syntax, typo domains like aoll.com, duplicates and +tag repeats are flagged in your browser, and the first 10 go to a live check. Yahoo's servers receive AOL mail and accepted made-up addresses in our checks, so passing AOL rows come back risky, not valid.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

Runs in your browser. Only the domains are sent, to look up their mail servers; addresses stay on your device.

How do I check a list of AOL addresses?

  1. Paste the addresses, one per line, or a CSV column of them. Addresses at other providers are checked as normal addresses and marked.
  2. Press Check the AOL addresses.
  3. Read the flagged rows: bad syntax, a typo domain, a duplicate, or the same address with a +tag.
  4. Download the clean list. Flagged notes stay on it; only rows that fail a check come off.
  5. The first 10 go to a live check. Sign in with Google to run the rest with 100 free email checks.

Example

You enter
6 addresses: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], an aim.com, an aol.co.uk and a company address.
You get
[email protected] is flagged as a likely typo of aol.com; [email protected] is marked as row 1 plus a +tag and kept. The live check returns the AOL rows as risky, because the Yahoo-run servers that receive AOL mail accepted made-up addresses in our checks.
Limits
The browser pass covers the first 5,000 rows; only domains leave your device. 10 live checks a day without an account, then the free checks with a Google sign-in.

Can you check if AOL addresses exist in bulk?

Not mailbox by mailbox. AOL mail is received by Yahoo's servers, and in our checks they accepted made-up addresses, so a well-formed AOL address comes back risky with "Accepts all addresses". Risky means unconfirmed, not bad.

A bulk check still settles everything that needs no mailbox answer: syntax, typo domains such as aoll.com or aol.co, duplicates, and whether the domain receives mail. For one address with full notes, use the AOL address checker.

Why do AOL lists go stale?

AOL runs two inactivity clocks. Its mailbox help page says a mailbox with no sign-in for 12 months stops receiving and is emptied, and its account deletion page lists 24 months without a sign-in as a reason the account is deleted.

AOL addresses tend to be old, so a list full of them carries many that have stopped receiving. Because no checker can confirm them one by one, send an old AOL list in small batches and remove every hard bounce at once.

What does each check catch on an AOL list?

Fix typo domains and duplicates in a donor list before a mailing.
List owners
See how much of an old list is AOL mail, where single mailboxes can't be confirmed.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • Yahoo's servers receive AOL mail and accepted made-up addresses in our checks, so passing AOL rows are risky, never valid.
  • A +tag row is flagged and kept; the tool doesn't assume it reaches the same inbox.
  • Valid syntax and a working domain say nothing about whether the owner still signs in.
  • The browser pass covers the first 5,000 rows; the free checks on your dashboard take the whole file.

Common questions

Is there a free bulk AOL email checker?
Yes. This page checks a whole AOL list for syntax, typo domains, duplicates and dead domains for free, runs 10 live checks with no account, and gives 100 free email checks with a Google sign-in.
Why does every AOL address come back risky?
Because the servers that receive AOL mail accepted made-up addresses in our checks, so accepting yours proves nothing. Risky means unconfirmed, not bad; let where the address came from decide.
Will the AOL users know I checked their address?
No. Nothing is delivered, so nothing appears in their inbox.
Are AOL and Yahoo checked the same way?
Yes. Yahoo's servers receive AOL mail, so both come back risky once the other checks pass. The bulk Yahoo email checker covers yahoo.com, ymail.com and rocketmail.com.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.

Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.

  • Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
  • A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
