1. Export the CSV from Mailchimp
- In Mailchimp, click Audience.
- If you have more than one audience, pick it from the Audience drop-down.
- Click Export audience.
- Click Export CSV, then download the file from the email Mailchimp sends.
The download can be a ZIP with separate files for subscribed, unsubscribed, non-subscribed and cleaned contacts. Verify the subscribed file. Only Owners and Admins can export.

- How do I export my audience from Mailchimp?
- In Mailchimp, click Audience. If you have more than one audience, pick it from the Audience drop-down. Click Export audience. - Do I need to change the Mailchimp CSV before uploading it?
- No. The email column is found by its header or its contents, so the Mailchimp export works as it is. Every other column is kept, and the cleaned files come back with your original columns so you can import them straight back into Mailchimp.
- Why verify a list that came from Mailchimp?
- Subscribers who signed up years ago move jobs, abandon inboxes or typed their address wrong. Every send to a dead address in Mailchimp is a bounce on your sender reputation, and many ESPs bill by contact count, so removing dead addresses also lowers the bill.
